APPLICATION AND EVENTS
The Annual Meeting of the Department of Texas will be held at the Drury Inn & Suites 6711 H. 35 North in Austin, Texas, September 12-13, 2008. Please use the following information to obtain your reservation before September 22, 2008. "I am with the KWVA State Department of Texas and wish to make reservations for arrival on September 12, 2008 and depart the morning of September 14, at its group rate of $82.00 per night." Any reservation after that date will be on an open space available basis, so please make your reservations as soon as possible.
FRIDAY 12, 2008 EVENTS
Registration in the TRAVIS Hospitality Room 12:00 to 22:00 Hours. Soft drinks and snacks for registered State Department Attendees. Your badge is your Entrance Ticket. Lunch and Evening Meal on your own. Information Available at Registration Desk in the Travis Room. Welcome Reception from 1800 to 1900 Hours. ( This is something we will have to do ourselves.) Bill MacSwain and I (Marvin Dunn) will go a day early so we will have drinks and snacks to eat and other goodies. If you have a special dish or recipe, that would be wonderful. We will be very informal and have a great time.
Free time after 1900 Hour for evening or to look over Austin Night Area. Some of the things you might want to see after you register are:

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 2008 EVENTS
Free Hot Morning Breakfast in the Breakfast Area
Registration in the Travis Room open 0830-1300
TRAVIS Hospitality Room Open for drinks and snacks from 1000-1300
0930- 11:30 EXECUTIVE COUNCIL MEETING- COLORADO ROOM (General members are invited to attend if they wish or more free time to visit Austin) Main business will take place at this time. Afternoon will be a Chapter Meeting to bring all attendees up to date on what the State Department plans are for the rest of the year, and any changes that the Executive Council has decided upon.
GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING

We are going to have our new KWVA, Inc. President, Bill MacSwain, introduced and answer any questions you may have. Bob Mitchell will discuss the KWVA Library and Museum. This meeting will be followed by our Banquet that evening at 6:00 P.M.
